.Urges public to ignore unverified reports

The Chairman of Ihitte/Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State , Prince Obioha Ndukwe, has stated that the reports claiming that the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Kennedy Egeonu, was impeached and replaced, describing the report as false and misleading, urging members of the public to disregard it.
The council chairman made the clarification during phone call Interaction following public reactions and political tension generated by the report, which alleged that Emeka Ekere had been installed as the new council leader.
Prince Ndukwe , stated that no impeachment has been carried out, stating that, as the Executive arm of the council had yet to receive any official report regarding the alleged impeachment.
He explained that legislative leadership can not be altered through rumours or informal declarations, but only through established procedures and proper legal channels.
He urged those that behind the report to desist from this action , adding that such rumours can disrupt the peace and stability in the council .
The Capacity Chairman, said that the council concentrate on their official duties within the council.
Adding that performance and service delivery should remain the basis for political support, not crisis-driven manoeuvring.
The Executive Chairman, used the opportunity to call on traditional rulers, youth groups, women association, and political leaders to remain calm and avoid escalating tension over what he described as unverified claims , also urged citizens of the council to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information about the council’s affairs, maintaining that the executive and legislative arms will continue to work together without any disruption.
The Legislative Leader of the Council , Rt. Hon. Kennedy Egeonu has also debunk the Impeachment rumour , adding that he is in a good terms with other councillors in the Ihitte/Uboma Legislative Council.
He stressed that the Council remains United , focused on development .
