High Chief Everest Ezihe, the principal media aide to HRH Eze Dr Oliver C. Ohanweh said that their attention has been drawn to a recent media report written by one, Obialor Cajethan C with the caption: Okigwe League of Professionals (OLEP) Appeal To Rt. Hon. Princess Miriam Onuoha For Continuity.
Ezihe pointed out that the appeal, they stated probably happened at Okigwe North Federal Constituency stakeholders meeting, with group photograph in which his principal, HRH Eze Dr. Oliver Chinedu Ohanweh, (Obi Gburu Gburu of Igboland), the traditional ruler of Isiama ancient kingdom was strategically and positionally captured.
The Media Aide lamented that, “this is worrisome because their principal is not a member of Okigwe League of Professionals, OLEP.
“In as much as, our principal is not against an aspiration of any body or group, but the publicized photograph to us, is a calculated blackmail, anchored on falsehood, deceit and with destructive intent on the integrity, reputation and personality of our principal, who’s a highly respected custodian of Igbo cultures and traditions, and an unbiased Royal Father to all and sundry.
“The gospel truth, is that, the published group photograph was taken at the premises of Six-C- Specialist Hospital, New Owerri owned by Dr. Chime Anyaeze, (Ikoro Okigwe) during a condolence visit over the death of his beloved mother, as our principal was also on hand in paying him condolence visit, as the Chairman of Okigwe Elders Global Forum while bereaved is the Secretary General of the Forum” he noted.
Ezihe also said that their principal, as a revered traditional ruler, non partisan politician and an elder statesman with integrity and pedigree, highly feel injured been associated with such politically motivated publication, and unjust dropping of his name.
According to him, “in view of this , we have graciously given the author of that publication, in which our principal appeared in a group photograph that was taking with out any bearing with the published editorial content, 14 (fourteen) days starting from the date of this publication, to retract the misguided publication in the front pages of 3 Imo State based tabloids or be ready to face the wraths of the law”.
