A political organisation, Rebuild Imo Movement (RIM), has denied any political marriage with Action People’s Party (APP), describing the purported alignment making the rounds on RIM’s platform and elsewhere as mischievous.
To this end, the movement has directed its members to distance themselves from the false claim.
In a statement yesterday in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the director general, Vin Udokwu, while urging the members to remain steadfast, among other things, restated the movement’s resolve towards its goals and aspirations.
The statement says, “Our attention has been drawn to a video advertisement of a political party, Action Peoples Party (APP) in some of our Rebuild Imo Movement platforms giving the false impression that our Rebuild Imo Movement may have decided to align with APP.
“The advertisement in our platform is very mischievous and most probably aimed to misinform and misdirect our very teeming membership.
“The leadership of RIM is diligently working towards a viable platform that aligns with our shared goals and aspirations. This process requires careful consideration to ensure that our collective vision for the betterment of Imo State is achieved.
“At the appropriate time, it shall be unveiled and the next steps communicated to all members.
Until then, we urge you to remain steadfast and focused on our mission.
“We commend the remarkable efforts you have made to strengthen the movement in your various localities. Your dedication and commitment are the bedrock of our success.
“Let us continue to work together, upholding the ideals of rebuild Imo, as we forge ahead in unity towards a brighter future for our state.”
