The Imo East Senatorial Candidate of the All Peoples Party ( APP) in the forthcoming election,Mazi Chima Amadi,has revealed why he threw his hat in the contest.
Interacting with Media Chief Executives in Owerri weekend,Amadi disclosed that he joined the contest to help save the state from total collapse.
Amadi popularly known as Gburugburu,noted that Imo State needs a disruption, adding that Imo is the only state that has retrogressed in the last 20 years.
According to him,” people we laughed at before are now mocking us. Aba is now better than Imo. It is annoying”.
He lampooned government in Imo State for not allowing opposition to thrive, maintaining that what he wants to drive is to allow the people decide who will govern them.
” Imo Economy is controlled by few people, some of them are not even known. The LGAs are dead. If governance is not restored to Imo State, insecurity will continue.
” We want to cause a revolution in the forthcoming general elections “, he stressed.
He however commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for the solid roads in the state and urged him to consider State roads that are in bad state.
He noted that APP remains a mass movement that is not driven by big men and women but anchored around the masses who are fed up with the status quo that had kept Imo State on the part of retrogression over the years.
Amadi added,” We are very serious with this election and as the APP Candidate for Imo East,we are going to win the election in order to give Owerri Zone the best in 2027 and beyond”
