Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma, has been named Governor of the Year 2025 by Leadership Newspapers, a leading national publication based in Abuja.
The announcement was made at the newspaper’s annual conference and 20th Founder’s Day anniversary held in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the organisers, Governor Uzodimma was selected for his “transformative governance anchored on transparency, inclusive education, digital empowerment, infrastructure renewal, and security reform.”
The award also recognised his efforts in redefining public service as a platform for progress and unity, as well as his commitment to sustainable development in Imo State.
Specific mention was made of the recovery and rehabilitation of Douglas Road, among other landmark projects, alongside wide-ranging initiatives in education, health, and social welfare.
The Governor was described as a leader who has not only rebuilt institutions but also restored public confidence in governance through result-oriented policies.
