In a bid to promote basic education and support learning at the grassroots, international businessman and philanthropist, Citizen Akirika Okoro, will soon start the free distribution of exercise books in primary schools, in the Imo State capital, Owerri.
The initiative will not only ease the financial burden of parents and enhance the academic performance of students, but is also a tactical support on the education policies of the State Government.
According to the Owerri Nchi-ise born Political Operator, “The motive behind this initiative is to (1) Reduce the financial burden on parents, as it will help to ease economic hardship for several families. (2) Boosting Academic Performance, as the objective is to provide students with the necessary tools for learning and to encourage academic excellence. (3) Investing in the future, for the overall development and growth of the Imo society. (4) As well as providing support to teachers and schools, as it aims to enhance the learning environment”.
Citizen Akirika Okoro, who is also the Chief Executive Officer Of the popular hospitality investment in Imo State, further explained that his commitment to protect and support the credibility and integrity of education in Imo State is non negotiable. In his words, he said, “I will continue to support students and pupils who are desirous to be properly educated. The integrity and credibility of education are built on academic integrity, which requires students to act with honesty, fairness, and responsibility in their learning and research”.
He further maintained that *”early foundation in education for children is crucial for ensuring the quality of education, accurate assessment of student’s knowledge, and preparation for professional life”.
