Former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, has described the death of Lady Chioma Bright Chimezie Njoku, the publisher of The Onion Newspapers as tragic and devastating.
Ohakim disclosed this last Wednesday when he paid a condolence visit to High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku, the bereaved husband of the deceased at his Owerri residence .

According to the former governor, ” honestly, I am still in shock and devastated. Her death is tragic. I have not been around. It was yesterday, Tuesday, that Dr. Okere told me and I asked him to call you immediately. “

The former governor pointed out that the death of Lolo Chioma Njoku will definitely a create a big vacuum in the family, stressing that the deceased was a very resourceful, industrious and focused woman.
He advised High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku to embrace the unfortunate challenge with courage, positing that with God, he would surmount any emerging challenges.

Ohakim reminded him of the need to ensure that the worthy legacies left behind by the wife are sustained.
He posited that nobody can question God for anything that happens in life, pointing out that God remains the omnipotent and omniscient

The former governor however, called for improved medical facilities in the country. He argued that it is regrettable that the cost of provision of health care services and drugs for medication has gone up by over 300%,which he said, has incapacitated even the average family from affording.

“I can imagine what you have gone through and what you are going through over the demise of your dear wife and a true companion.Am shocked over her sudden death, I know your wife very well, I call her Lolo. She was always smiling, very effervescent, hard working, highly supportive, lovely and celebral”, Ohakim averred.

He prayed for God’s sustenance, provision and grace on the family, and assured them of his support and assistance at all times.

Responding, High Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku who received the eminent personality with some of his friends, in-laws and relatives expressed gratitude to Chief Ikedi Ohakim and his entourage for his brotherly concern and visitation.
Njoku, who is the publisher of Nigerian Horn Daily Newspapers, earlier informed the former governor how the wife battled with the health challenges within a short while and the frantic efforts made to save her.

He described his wife’s death as very painful, but stated that as a Christian, he believed that God knows the best and would also give the family the fortitude to bear the excruciating and irreparable loss.
