The Campaign Organisation of Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi, the Action Peoples Party (APP) senatorial candidate for Imo East (Owerri Zone), has denied reports linking their Principal to the All Progressives Congress,APC Presidential Campaign Council.
In a statement signed by Cajetan Duke, JP, Chief Press Secretary to Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi, on August 25, 2026, the campaign organisation said the Chima Amadi name in an APC publication as Deputy Director, Labour Union, is a different individual.
The statement said Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi was neither nominated nor appointed to the APC Presidential Campaign Council and has no affiliation with the council or the position.
It further stated that Amadi is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is not a labour unionist, but a member of the APP and the party’s senatorial candidate for Imo East in the 2027 general election.
According to the statement, Amadi remains committed to the APP, its presidential candidate, programmes and campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.
The campaign organisation urged media organisations, political stakeholders, supporters and members of the public to disregard reports identifying Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
It explained that the clarification was necessary to address confusion arising from the similarity in names and to prevent the continued circulation of what it described as inaccurate information.
The organisation, however, stressed that the statement was not intended to question or discredit the identity, appointment or activities of the other Chima Amadi named in the APC publication.
