Obibi Nguru, in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, stood still on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, as family, friends, and dignitaries from all walks of life gathered to bid a final farewell to a beloved sister, mother and grandmother Adanne, Augustina Adanze Emeziem.

The solemn yet graceful ceremony celebrated a life well lived, filled with grace, humility, and compassion. The event drew a remarkable gathering, a testament to the high regard in which the late Augustina Emeziem was held.

Representing the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, was the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, PhD, who conveyed the Governor’s heartfelt condolences and described the late Augustina as a woman of enduring virtues and commendable values.

In her address, the Deputy Governor acknowledged that her presence was in recognition of the significant work being done by Dr. (Mrs.) Chioma Nwachuku, the Managing Director and CEO of the Orashi Special Energy Free Zone, and a sister to the deceased. The project was lauded as a critical catalyst for Imo State’s industrial transformation.
Her Excellency also recognised Rt Hon Alex Emeziem PhD the brother of the deceased as an APC chieftain.

In a heartfelt tribute, Rt. Hon. Alex Emeziem PhD an APC chieftain, former Deputy Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly and a younger brother to the deceased, expressed profound grief, sharing that his sister’s radiant smile and compassionate nature will forever live in his memory.

“Goodnight, my dearest elder Sister. Until we meet again, may we part no more,” he said tearfully.

He thanked all dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers for honoring the family’s with their presence and specially thanked the Governor for recognizing his sister Dr Mrs Chioma Nwachuku’s contribution to the state through public service and enterprise.

Late Augustina Adanze Emeziem is survived by three children, who embody her values of education, love, and Christian virtue. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering faith continues to inspire all who knew her.

May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
