Corps Members have been advised to exhibit good leadership qualities that are worthy of emulation as they serve their fatherland.

This advice was given by the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu while addressing Corps Members at Jigawa, Yobe and Borno State Orientation Camps.

He implored them to be prepared for leadership roles with diligence, foresight, strong determination and creative mindsets to survive despite any odds.

General Nafiu also urged the Corps Members to be passionate about national development, adding that the task of nation building rests on their shoulders as youths and role models.

He enjoined them to abide by the Oath of Allegiance they swore to, including the tenets of NYSC bye-laws and NYSC Act, so as not to fall victims of the law.

The NYSC Jigawa State Coordinator, Mr Dawut Jidda in his Orientation Camp report said a total of 1,209 Corps Members comprising 779 males and 480 females were registered.

Similarly, his counterpart in Yobe State informed General Nafiu that 625 males and 399 females totaling 1,024 have been well behaved since they arrived Camp.

Malam Nasir Bello, the Borno State NYSC Coordinator, stated that 820 Corps Members, made up of 482 males and 338 females have all been adhering to camp rules and regulations.

“Through the commitment of camp officials and good conduct displayed by Corps Members, we were able to surmount our challenges”, he said.
