The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Daniel Nwachukwu, has approved the appointment of three staff into key administrative positions, geared towards repositioning the institution for greater productivity.
The Vice-Chancellor after considering their track records and cognate experiences, announced the appointment of Prof. Rita Alo as the Director, ICT, Dr. Edward Ajanwachukwu Okoro as the NELFund Desk Officer and Dr. Michael Olaolu as Tetfund Desk Officer, AST& D.
The appointments, which were guided by merit, professional competence, and the need to reposition critical administrative units for optimal performance, is for a period of one year with effect from Monday, April 13, 2026.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that effective leadership structures are fundamental to achieving the university’s strategic objectives, particularly in the areas of academic excellence, service delivery, and institutional development, adding that the appointment of these three seasoned academics is an important step in driving his vision for a more efficient, transparent, and academically competitive university system.
Alo is a Professor of Computer Science, and a one-time Head, Department of Computer Science and a former Acting Director of ICT. He took over from Dr. I. I Achi.
Ajanwachukwu is a Reader in the Department of Philosophy of the University, and he took over from Mr. Godffery Ugochukwu Obetta of the Bursary Department.
Olaolu is a Senior Lecturer, and until his appointment was the Acting Head, Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development. He took over from Dr. Ikechukwu Onwe.
