The release read:” Sir Odom began life as a merchant, pulling himself up from very humble beginnings. He lived and worked in Ghana ( then known as the Gold Coast) before eventually settling in Umuahia prior to the Nigerian Civil War. Though the war devastated his business ventures,he resilently rebuilt and later became a station teacher at St.Brendan’s Church, where he served faithfully until his retirement from public life.
” Papa was a man of deep Christian faith and discipleship. He shared generously with all who crossed his path. His life motto,” Show Love “, was not only displayed in his home but lived out daily. He truly believed that love of neighbour is the highest Christian calling. A devout member of various Christian organizations,Sir. T. S. Odom was a proud knight of St. John International, among others. Though we mourn his physical absence,we rejoice in the blessed hope of the resurrection.
” We kindly request your prayers and masses for the repose of his gentle soul”.
