———– AS TRADITIONAL RULERS CONFER CHIEFTAINCY TITLE ON 2024 BIG BROTHER NAIJA, SEASON 9 FINALIST, SOOJ CHIBUIKEM SAM OSUJI

Having kept fate with his Constituents by periodically briefing them on his legislative activities since he was inaugurated lawmaker representing Isiala Mbano State Constituency at the Imo State House Of Assembly on the 16th of June 2023, his recent Constituency briefing therefore witnessed a surge, as people trooped out enmasse to listen to Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji once again.

Indeed, Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji, the vibrant and ebullient lawmaker representing Isiala Mbano State Constituency and the Deputy Majority Leader has set the pace amongst his colleagues in the Imo State House Of Assembly by hosting the third Constituency briefing for his people, apart from the several interactive sessions he has had with them in the last one and half years of his inauguration as a lawmaker.

The event was held on the 1st of January 2025, and the venue was at his Amaraku country home in Isiala Mbano local government area of Imo State. As a man of exquisite taste and means, the humble lawmaker ensured that people were thrilled with choice food and drinks, and further entertained by sweet melodious music.

The occasion did not only witness the presence of who is who in Isiala Mbano, but political bigwigs, traditional rulers, business operatives, students, physically challenged, etc, showed solidarity with their presence.

The Chairman of the occasion was Chief Victor Mbagwu. While the opening prayer was said by Hon Julius Asagwara, the kolanuts were blessed by the traditional rulers present.

In his opening speech, Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji submitted that he would continue to offer effective representation, such that Isiala Mbano State Constituency in particular and Imo State in general, would positively continue to feel the impact. He reminded the very large audience that he had hosted two major Constituency briefings with them and many segmental meetings, all aimed at attaining the goal of taking Isiala Mbano to the next level, developmentally, socially, politically and economically.

In his words, the Deputy Majority Leader said, “Ndi Isiala Mbano Nwem, this is the third Constituency briefing I am having with you since you sent me to the Imo State House Of Assembly to represent you as your lawmaker one and half years ago. I didn’t go there to warm the seats. I have been very active, and you hear my voice always. I have sponsored and co-sponsored many people oriented Bills and Motions”.

The pragmatic lawmaker went ahead and reeled out his achievements, including the 38 Bills and Motions he sponsored and co-sponsored, many of which have started impacting positively on the lives of his Constituents, and provision of job opportunities and facilitating University admissions for Isiala Mbano indigenes.

Specifically, Hon Sam Osuji stated thus, “My office is one of the busiest in the State Assembly because I come to work always, to attend to your needs and wants. I have never missed Sitting at Plenary because your welfare is of utmost concern to me. I have lived to my promise. I take your phone calls. My vibrancy and understanding of the legislative responsibility is such that the Speaker, Rt Honourable Chike Olemgbe, with the active support of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, honoured me by express approval as the Deputy Majority Leader. Therefore, my responsibility is not limited to Isiala Mbano representation but the entire state. Let me therefore assure you that every Political Ward in Isiala Mbano will have, at least, one project for execution”.

In his remark, the APC Isiala Mbano LGA Chairman, Hon Chief CY Obichendu, commended Hon Sam Osuji for effectively representing Isiala Mbano and working harmoniously with other lawmakers to support the visionary leadership of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma. He urged the lawmaker not to relent but to continue to fly the flag of Isiala Mbano high in the State Assembly.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Hon Chika Okoroike, appreciated the political ingenuity, maturity, selflessness and patriotism of Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji, describing it as worthy of emulation by all aspiring leaders.

In her remark, the Member Representing Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Hon Mrs Nwanyiwuihe Miriam Onuoha described Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji as a Political Asset, who is doing well for Isiala Mbano and the State. “His representation is not only effective and accomodating, but commendable. We are all proud of him”. The federal lawmaker stated.

The excitement on the faces of the huge crowd at the occasion was indescribable when fat envelopes containing cash gifts were given to each person that graced the ceremony.

The introduction of the 2024 Big Brother Naija, Season 9 Finalist, Sooj Chibuikem Sam Osuji, added more flavor and excitement to the occasion.

For the record : Sooj Chibuikem Sam Osuji is a talented young man, in his 20’s, from Amaraku in Isiala Mbano, and a graduate of Babcock University in Ogun State, a Finalist in the concluded 2024 Big Brother Naija, Season 9. He made Imo State proud, and is rapidly making waves in the world of sports, fashion, reality television and education. He has raised the flag of Isiala Mbano very high. He is the worthy son of the Member Representing Isiala Mbano State Constituency, in the Imo State House Of Assembly, Hon Chief Sam Ikechukwu Osuji.

Therefore, in appreciation and commendation for raising the flag of Isiala Mbano very high, eleven (11) Traditional Rulers in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area that graced the ceremony led by Hrh Eze Engr Ogemdi Agbugba And Hrh Eze Dr Oliver Ohanweh conferred on Sooj Chibuikem Sam Osuji the Chieftaincy title of MMIRIOMA MBANO.

In his vote of thanks, Hrh Eze Dr Oliver Ohanweh, Gburugburu, commended Hon Sam Ikechukwu Osuji for being a true Ambassador of Isiala Mbano at the Imo State House Of Assembly and for effectively raising the standard of legislation, and constantly remembering to interface with Isiala Mbano Constituents on his legislative activities. The traditional ruler also commended the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for ensuring that the right things are done, and laying the foundation for solid infrastructure across the state. “History will be kind to Governor Hope Uzodimma”. Hrh Eze Dr Oliver Ohanweh submitted.
