High Chief Okey Amadi (KSC) Official Campaign Opening Message
August 19, 2026
As the campaign period officially opens, I, High Chief Okey Amadi (KSC), candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Federal House of Representatives, Owerri Federal Constituency, present myself to our people with humility and a clear sense of purpose.
This journey is not simply about seeking political office. It is a call to service; a commitment to accountability, security, opportunity, inclusion and effective representation.
At the heart of my life and leadership is a principle I inherited from my father:
“Work hard. Become strong. And when you become strong, use your strength to protect the weak around you.”
Those words have remained with me throughout my life.
They shaped my understanding of success and taught me that strength is meaningless unless it is used to lift others. They taught me that leadership is not about titles, privilege or personal enrichment; leadership is responsibility.
Today, as I ask for the mandate of the people of Owerri Federal Constituency, I ask you first to examine my record.
Before seeking elected office, we established SOMBA Bread through Egwuchukwu Farms Nigeria Limited, creating an economic ecosystem that supports hundreds of direct and indirect workers, distributors, families and dependants.
Through the Sir Okey Amadi Foundation, we have supported humanitarian and community interventions aimed at improving lives and giving hope to people in difficult circumstances.
We have supported security initiatives, including the deployment of security-drone technology in Obibiezena and Ihiagwa.
We intervened in the temporary rehabilitation of the Ihiagwa–Amaeze–Obibiezena Road because communities should not have to wait indefinitely while dangerous roads continue to threaten lives and livelihoods.
We did these things without holding elected office.
I mention them not because they are enough, but because I believe that a person asking for greater responsibility should be able to demonstrate what he has done with the opportunities and resources already entrusted to him.
THE CHALLENGES BEFORE US
Our constituency faces serious challenges.
Our people are confronted by insecurity, unemployment, drug abuse, deteriorating infrastructure, limited opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs, and insufficient economic inclusion for our women and young people.
These problems demand more than campaign promises.
They demand representation that works.
If elected, I will pursue stronger federal attention, legislative intervention, budgetary opportunities and strategic partnerships for the development of Owerri Federal Constituency.
I will advocate for expanded opportunities in education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, technology, agriculture, mentorship and job creation.
I will work to ensure that our youths are given alternatives to unemployment, crime and drug abuse.
I will support initiatives that empower our women economically and strengthen our farmers, traders, professionals, artisans and entrepreneurs.
I will pursue infrastructure and security interventions wherever the powers and responsibilities of the Federal Government can make a meaningful difference.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF CAMPAIGN
I make another commitment today:
Our campaign will be a campaign of ideas.
We will not build our movement on insults, hatred, intimidation or violence.
Every candidate seeking to represent our people should be examined on four fundamental questions:
What have you done?
What do you intend to do?
Do you have the capacity to do it?
Can the people trust your word?
I welcome that scrutiny.
I also call upon my supporters to conduct themselves with dignity. We do not need to destroy another person to explain why we deserve the confidence of our people.
Let our ideas compete.
Let our records speak.
And ultimately, let the people decide.
REPRESENTATION MUST COME HOME
If elected, Abuja will never become an excuse for abandoning the people who sent me there.
Our traditional institutions, town unions, women, youths, professionals, farmers, traders, entrepreneurs and community leaders must have an accessible representative.
I want the voice heard in Abuja to reflect the realities experienced in Owerri North, Owerri West and Owerri Municipal.
I am proudly a son of Amaorie-Obibiezena in Owerri North LGA, but the moment the people entrust me with their mandate, every community within Owerri Federal Constituency becomes my responsibility.
Whether you supported me or another candidate, whether you belong to ADC or another political party, you will remain part of the constituency I am elected to serve.
THIS JOURNEY IS BIGGER THAN OKEY AMADI
This campaign is about the unemployed graduate searching for an opportunity.
It is about the mother struggling to provide for her family.
It is about the farmer who needs access to opportunity and markets.
It is about the entrepreneur struggling to build a business and employ others.
It is about our elderly citizens who deserve dignity.
It is about communities living with insecurity.
It is about young people who need hope and direction.
And above all, it is about the generation coming after us.
I will never promise that one representative can solve every problem overnight.
But I can promise hard work.
I can promise accessibility.
I can promise accountability.
I can promise courage.
I can promise compassion.
And I can promise that the mandate of our people will never be treated as a personal entitlement.
That is my covenant with the people of Owerri Federal Constituency.
As this new journey begins, we shall stand for:
SECURITY.
JOBS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP.
INFRASTRUCTURE.
THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUG ABUSE.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR YOUTHS AND WOMEN.
EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION.
ACCOUNTABILITY.
AND SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE.
Above all, we shall remain guided by the principle that has shaped my life:
THE STRONG MUST PROTECT THE WEAK.
The mission is SERVICE.
The platform is ADC.
The destination is a stronger Owerri Federal Constituency.
This is our journey.
This is our opportunity.
And together, we can build a constituency where strength protects the vulnerable, opportunity reaches the ordinary citizen, and representation truly serves the people.
OKEY IS OKAY!
