Chief Darlington Onyelike, popularly known as Achiever Darlington Onyelike II is not your regular political enthusiast. He is gregarious, warm, and naturally disposed to leadership. Integrity is not a slogan for him; it is a reputation affirmed by those who have worked closely with him.

I first encountered him at Ohakim’s camp around 2018. He stood out immediately, passionate about good governance, unwavering in loyalty, and allergic to political pretence. With Achiever, there is no half-measure. When he stands with you, he stands fully and uncompromisingly.

He proved this when he became a principal supporter of Obinna Onwubariri, contributing significantly to the victory at Okigwe North Federal Constituency. Later, he endorsed Princess Miriam Onuoha, investing his structure and energy wholeheartedly and she emerged victorious, a mandate she retains till date. In both instances, history records his loyalty living up to the creed of his sobriquet- “Achiever”. Whether that loyalty was reciprocated or not is a story for another day.

Yet, true leaders do not collapse under disappointment. Possessing what many describe as a Midas touch, Achiever ventured boldly and fully into business and real estate would become the niche. Hence FLAMES Real Estate was born. Within a short period, he established himself as a dominant force, commanding fortune and earning respect in the business space.

Still, the call to serve remained louder than comfort. His bid for Isiala Mbanọ LGA Chairmanship demonstrated readiness, competence, and grassroots appeal. Though the system did not tilt in his favour, the aspiration revealed his courage.

It is therefore my candid and strategic counsel that Achiever should not retreat from the arena. Rather, he should embrace the wisdom of “stoop to conquer” which I have been advocating and position himself for the Imo State House of Assembly in 2027. Leadership is not diminished by strategic entry points; it is strengthened by them.

Let us not forget he once served as President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Isiala Mbanọ chapter, delivering creditably. Beyond politics and enterprise, he is a committed Christian – an Evangelist in the vineyard of God and a man whose interventions have touched many lives within and beyond his constituency. In recognition of.such impacts, A Community by the name of Añara awarded him a chieftaincy title – Akuabata1 of Añara.

With the enormous goodwill he commands, support will not be difficult to galvanize. The people of his constituency will consider it a payback time to have him represent them … .Perhaps, the time has come and it is up to Onyelike to swim in the direction of the tide.

After helping others rise, after building wealth, after proving loyalty, after demonstrating resilience, perhaps the season has shifted. It is pointing towards the Kingmaker who has waited long enough. The question now is simple: Will Achiever Darlington continue to build crowns for others, or is 2027 the year he finally wears his own?
