Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu Zone), Senator Dr. Osita Izunaso, OFR, has approved the release of ₦12 million to support the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide electronic membership registration exercise across the district.
The development was disclosed in a press release dated February 2, 2026, and issued by Hon. David Nwaenyi, Ph.D., a Legislative Practice Consultant, Public Affairs Analyst and party stakeholder. According to the release, the funds are to be disbursed at the rate of ₦1 million to each of the 12 local government areas in Imo West Senatorial District.
The release stated that the financial support is aimed at strengthening grassroots party structures, facilitating a seamless registration process and encouraging greater participation of party members and intending members in the APC e-registration exercise.
Izunaso’s intervention, the statement noted, reflects his commitment to party development, inclusiveness and the consolidation of internal democracy within the APC. It added that the senator believes a strong and well-organised party at the grassroots is essential for sustaining good governance and responsive leadership.
Party members, supporters and eligible residents of Imo West Senatorial District were encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity by registering or updating their membership details during the ongoing exercise. The release emphasised that active participation in party processes remains a key pillar for strengthening democracy and ensuring that the voices of the people are heard.
The statement further reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to good governance, economic reforms, improved security and people-centred development across the country, noting that continued support from party leaders and members would help sustain the party’s reform agenda and deepen democratic dividends.
