Oru West leaders in Imo State have felicitated with Governor Hope Uzodimma on the occasion of his 67th birthday anniversary, saying they were impressed by his sterling performance in office.
They said the transformative and transparent leadership offered by Uzodimma in the last five years has reinforced their trust and hope in him as an astute administrator.
In a statement issued by the leaders to congratulate the governor on his birthday, Oru West leaders reaffirmed their implicit confidence in the ability of Uzodimma to rewrite the economic and developmental history of Imo state.
In the statement, signed by the leader of Oru West Council of Elders, Chief Barr Peter Mgbenwelu( Egbendu Orlu), the Chairman of Oru West traditional rulers, Eze Festus Orji,Senator Osita Izunaso , and 33 other eminent sons of the area, they described Uzodimma as a son and brother in whom they are well pleased with.
They noted that prior to the election of Uzodimma as governor, they had vouched for his integrity, capacity, and commitment to the overall development of the state.
” Even before he assumed office as governor, we had assured the people of Imo State that he would be the best. We are profoundly happy that he has proven us right: they asserted.
The Oru West leaders said that they were also gratified that Uzodimma has wiped away the tears of Orlu zone because of the abysmal performance of former governors from the Zone who brought them nothing but a reproach.
According to them, ” before Uzodimma, we were being mocked by other people in Imo state who laughed at us for the low quality leadership our sons offered. Now this governor has wiped our tears, and we now hold our heads high as his kinsmen “
They referenced the infrastructural transformation in the state, the human capital development and the prompt payment of salaries and pensions and the release of gratuities to retirees after more than 20 years delay as the hallmark of an efficient leader.

They also commended the governor for organising the recent Imo Economic Summit, saying it has strengthened the resolve of Uzodimma to lead the state to economic prosperity.
