The Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has announced the appointment of Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie as its new substantive Vice-Chancellor.
His five-year single tenure is scheduled to begin on November 19, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Office of Information and Public Relations, the university’s Governing Council approved the appointment following its meeting on November 16, 2025. The decision was formally conveyed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Barrister Monsur Kukoyi Olugbenga.
Professor Anyaehie, a distinguished scholar in physiology and clinical measurements, succeeds Professor (Dame) Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, who has been serving as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
The announcement was signed by Njelita Louis O., Acting Director of Information and Public Relations for the institution.
