Over One Thousand Five Hundred women of Aguneze Community in Ahiazu Mbaise Council Area of Imo State have benefited from a free medical care services, legal advice and marriage counselling programme organized by a humanitarian organisation, Loveline Foundation.

The event held at the Palace of the community traditional rulers, Eze Comos Onyejiji, weekend also witnessed the training cum empowerment of Thirty-one women on agro-business and management.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the event, the founder of the foundation, Mrs Loveline Paul Chukwukere said the programme was designed to encourage and empower the women to live up to their responsibilities as wives, mothers and home builders.

According to her, “women are the strong bone of our homes or families and as such, should be provided with every opportunity either in form of skills, empowerment or education to enable them discharge their responsibilities in their respective homes effectively.”

Chukwukere said, “This programme is so passionate to me. Aside been my way of giving back to the society and putting smiles on the faces of fellow women, I believe it will help and encourage the beneficiaries to contribute effectively to the sustainability of their respective homes.

“This year edition is such an impactful one. It is a clear demonstration of our passion for women development. Today, we were able to provide a free medical check-up, free legal advice and free counselling sessions to all the women in Aguneze Community here in Ahiazu Mbaise Council Area of Imo State.

“We equally distributed several food items to 1500 women and also trained 31 of them in agro-business and management in partnership with Women in Agric Business Resourse Centre (WARC). We believe that when you empower a woman, you have empowered a nation.”
