Imo State capital Owerri, will host a notable literary event on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, as veteran journalist and award -winning author, Ethelbert Okere, unveils his latest work of fiction,Once Upon A Day, the 20th book by him.

The event, which coincides with the author’s birthday anniversary, celebrates a significant milestone in a career marked by decades of impactful storytelling and contribution to literature and journalism.

Scheduled to hold at Rock View Hotel, Owerri, at 11:00 a.m. prompt, the gathering will bring together literary scholars, media professionals and politicians for a morning of reflection and cultural engagement.

His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, will attend as Special Guest of Honour, while His Excellency, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, former Governor of Imo State, will serve as Chief Host, lending distinguished support to the occasion.Also expected to be in attendance is tech icon, Leo Stan Ekeh , who incidentally published OKERE’S award- winning book , NIGERIA: AGENDA FOR A MODERN POLICE FORCE, in 1991.
