His Imperial Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Thomas Obiwuru Obiefule, the Okairuro and Ezekaibeya of Umudioka Ancient Kingdom, Orlu, Imo state has conferred the Chieftaincy title of “Akaekpuchi Onwa of Umudioka” on Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu.
Eze (Dr) Obiefule is the national President, Traditional Rulers Association of Nigeria and patron, Imo State Council of Ndieze. Eze Obiefule, who is currently the zonal chairman of Orlu Traditional Institute and community policing in the state has been on the throne for over 40 years.
According to Eze Obiefule, the conferement on Senator Anyanwu, popularly known as “Samdaddy” was in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to social development, political reinvigoration and reorientation in Nigeria.
Senator Anyanwu who served as National Secretary of the National Caretaker Committee of PDP, was recently re-elected the National Secretary of the main opposition party in Nigeria; the Peoples Democratic Party.
The title was one out of numerous Chieftaincy titles Senator Anyanwu has received including “Obioha 1 of Igbo land” conferred on him by HRM Eze (Dr) Isaac Ikonne, Eze Eziama Aba. The Enyi 1 of Aba.
Anyanwu, a prominent political figure in Imo state and Nigeria, is loved across party lines was the Governorship standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 Governorship election in Imo state.
