SWINTEC Computer Institute, a highly revered Technology based establishment that has lasted over 35 years since inception and a well approved IELTS training and exam center in Owerri, Imo State, has successfully held IELTS Fair, in partnership with the British Council.
The Fair held on Friday, November 7th, 2025, at the Primetime Colossium, drew down participants who felt highly satisfied with what they were offered and the advantage they derived from participating in the Fair, especially with the rebate they obtained while registering with Swintec during the time of the Fair. Excitedly, they commended Swintec Computer Institute for allowing them a rebate of about N15,000, as they paid N265,000 instead of the actual fee of N279,500, to register for the IELTS examinations.
One of the participants whose name is Obinna, had this to say: “My name is Obinna. I am a Lawyer. I heard about the Fair on Radio, I now decided to come and check out what they are offering; what the Fair is all about. To the extent I have listened and have participated, it’s okay. The Representative from the British Council informed us that they are organizing the IELTS fair in partnership with Swintec.
“It is a double package that when you register during this Fair, you get five weeks of free training at Swintec. So, that is what the package is all about and I am impressed; I am okay and satisfied with the registration and the package. So, my coming to the Fair is advantageous to me.”
Another participant Odoemene Caroline Chikamnele, a Health Consultant in Kedi Health Company in Owerri, with full excitement stated thus: “My experience here is great. I have been taking lectures at Swintec Computer Institute for the past two months now, going to classes for IELTS exams. I can only say that I am impressed with the way we are being taught; not one teacher but two.”
Continuing she said: “Going round, I have to commend the owner of Swintec for their method at work. He has been doing great in Swintec and his listening attention to attend to every problem is wonderful. I have had issue whereby I lost my receipt, after payment in Swintec and being the fact that it cannot be retrieved back other than paying another money, he was able to retrieve the receipt back for me. I was so impressed by that gesture of his.”
Regarding the Fair, Caroline said: “Thank God for this particular edition of IELTS Fair. Though I have been attending IELTS training at Swintec, this Fair has made me realize certain things I might not have realized when I was in the secondary school or University level. So, I am happy to be here and I don’t regret ever wasting my transport to come.”
Amaikwu Favour Ezinne, a student from Ogidi in Anambra State, in her exciting views, said: “I just finished my secondary education this year and I am attending this Fair because I want to study abroad and I pray I pass the test very well. I believe that the Fair will improve my skill to be able to write the test and pass very well. That is the reason I am attending.”
Okwara Henry, a staff of the Education Commission, a Federal Government establishment in Owerri, stated thus: “I think what they are doing is beautiful because I know the advantage of what people have around here. If it were to be monitzed; yes people can still go to U-Tube and some other social media sources to download and possibly read up about IELTS exams but that direct tutulage, where you have someone to guide you and then hold you by the hands and take you through the stages; in fact take you through the technicalities at a time, is fantastic.”
In furtherance, Okwara Henry said: “The Fair is so good but as a matter of fact, I think the publicity was not done enough. Otherwise, this hall couldn’t have accommodated the number of people who would have been here if people were to know about what is going on here right now. I have seen pockets of people here in a conference hall. It shouldn’t have been so if it was given adequate publicity.”
Okoroafor Princess Kosisochukwu, a student of Public Health in the Imo State University (IMSU), said: “I find the Fair very interesting because I didn’t plan on coming but I just decided on coming here and so far so good. I must say that I am impressed with what I have seen here. The way they have thought us here and how they answered our questions have been marvelous. My happiness is very high due to the amount Swintec removed from the overall payment to register for the AIELTS exams. The actual payment is N279,500 but we happened to pay N265,000. A whole lot of N14,500 or call it N15,000 was removed. I am so happy with this particular gesture by Swintec and with everything I have gathered here today.
“It is a good idea for the British Council to come all out to partner with Swintec Computer Institute to offer this Fair. I will suggest that they make it a regular event, at least annually. It will greatly help IELTS Candidates to pass their exams very well.
