Ogbuagu, Chief (Senator) Francis Arthur Nzeribe (1938–2022)

Exactly three years ago, the sun set on a towering figure in our political history—my leader, mentor, and benefactor, Ogbuagu, Chief (Senator) Francis Arthur Nzeribe.

Though it has been three years since your transition, your memory remains as fresh and inspiring as ever. Not a day passes without thoughts of your strength, wisdom, and the deep compassion that defined your life.

You were more than a leader. You were a movement—unapologetically bold, deeply principled, and unwavering in your commitment to justice and service. You lifted many from despair to dignity, from helplessness to hope. I am proud to say I am one of them—shaped by your guidance, inspired by your courage, and strengthened by your belief in me.

You gave many of us a voice when it was dangerous to speak, a path when the way was unclear, and the strength to keep moving when the burden felt too heavy. You did not only play politics; you built people. You did not only win elections; you won hearts.

As we remember you today, we celebrate a life well lived—a life of uncommon courage, service, and humanity. Your legacies live on in all of us who had the honour of walking with you, learning from you, and serving under your tutelage.

Ogbuagu, your departure created a void that can never be filled, but your spirit continues to inspire. You remain our Strong Pillar, our father, our political General.
