. HON PRINCE CHIKA OKOROIKE OPENS STRUCTURE

It was celebration galore by his people on Sunday, 9th March, 2025 as a prominent and worthy son of Umuopara Ugiri, in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Engr. Markens Kevin Anyanwu handed over to his home Catholic Parish a Sacristy and Office Complex, he built for the Catholic Parish Church, St. Michaels Catholic Parish.
Markens, who went to hand over the structure to the Church with his supportive wife, Mrs Ijeoma Thelma Mark Anyanwu, thanked God for granting him the enablement to fulfill his life ambition of building the house of God, while dedicating the structure to his late parents Pa Mark and Nneoma Regina Anyanwu.
The Executive Chairman of Isiala Mbano Local Government Council Hon. Prince Chika Okoroike opened the Sacristy and Office Complex while the event was celebrated with a Holy Mass. The Vicar General 1 of Okigwe Catholic Diocese Monsignor Dr John Iwe, as well as the Papal Chamberlain, joined hands with the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. F. Onwuegbuchulam, the former Parish Priest Rev. F. Nwadike and other priests and religious to celebrate the Holy Mass.
Delivering his sermon, Rev. Dr. Monsignor John Iwe stated that life is not a straight forward journey and that Christian faith is littered with series of trials and temptations. He, therefore, enjoined Catholic faithful to fully embrace God, as he said that God is ever ready to listen to His children and supply them with their abundant needs. Rev. Dr. Monsignor Iwe at the same time commended Engr. Kevin Markens Anyanwu for his generosity and sacrifices to the Church and prayed God to replenish his pocket.
In his vote of thanks, the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. F Onwuegbuchulam thanked Rev. Dr. Monsignor John Iwe for finding time to come and partake in the Eucharistic Mass and handing over of the Sacristy and Office Complex to the Parish by Engr. Kevin Markens Anyanwu. He equally thanked the Papal Chamberlain and other priests who participated in the Church service, even as he appreciated his predecessor Rev. Fr. F Nwadike for effectively handling the Sacristy and Office Complex building project. He at the same time appreciated Engr. Kevin Markens Anyanwu for his generosity in building the Sacristy and Office Complex for the Parish.
Rev. Fr. Chukwu anchored the fundraising moment at the event. The benevolent Engr. Kevin Markens Anyanwu beckoned on his friends and well wishes to donate generously for the ongoing Church projects in the Parish. Marken’s Foundation and his other friends generously donated at the fundraising. Engr. Anyanwu in his speech appreciated parents for giving to their children sound upbringing. He thanked his late parents for offering him good moral upbringing, just as he prayed God to continue to grant them eternal peaceful repose of their souls.
Engr. Anyanwu, who hinted that he was a Mass Server also stated that he had all his life wanted to build a house of God. He, therefore, thanked Almighty God for granting him the grace to fulfill that his life ambition. He promised that by God’s grace he will do more for the Church, even as he urged youths to make it a point of duty to take up projects in God’s house.
