The Ebonyi state government as part of its efforts to advance the infrastructural needs at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, old MacGregor College Afikpo, has approved the execution of additional
staff quarters, female hostel and a befitting Camp Clinic.
The State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Engr. Jude Chikadibia Okpor disclosed this during a press briefing at the end of this week’s state Executive Council meeting at the State EXECO Chambers, Abakaliki.
According to the Commissioner, this is in line with the resolve of the Rt. Honourable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s led administration in the state to compliment the Renewed Hope initiative of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to provide a conducive environment for both staff and Corps Members of the scheme during the orientation course exercises.
It could be recalled that the governor while playing host to the former Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed during the 2024 Batch C stream 1 orientation exercise had promised to provide the necessary support and infrastructural needs of the camp to enable Corps Members and staff feel at home during orientation camps.
The donation of a brand Hilux Van was one of the advantages of that visit.
The government later dispatched a team of inspectors from the state Ministry of Housing and Urban development who came to camp to do the necessary site inspection for the afore mentioned projects.
The NYSC family remains eternally grateful to the Nwifuru led administration in the state.
