The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo has signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law.
The budget estimate pegged at more than twelve point four billion naira was presented to the lawmakers by the Executive Chairman about two weeks ago.
The Chief Press Secretary , Ofonimo Okon disclosed this in a release on Friday.
“After weeks of scrutiny, the lawmakers gave the budget estimates a clean bill of health and passed it into law.
” Signing the document into law on Friday, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo thanked the lawmakers for their painstaking effort in working on the document.
” He said with the bill now a law, his team will now work like never before in fast tracking development in the nooks and crannies of the LGA.
“On behalf of the Executive arm, I want to specially thank the lawmakers for working day and night in ensuring the speedy passage of the bill into law. Let me assure you that with the bill now a legal document, we will immediately swing into action and start the many projects we outlined to make live better for the people of Obio/Akpor.”
“Our people expect a lot from us and as a team, we have promised not to let them down but work in line with the blueprint and mantra of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara by putting the people first in all our programs and policies.”
Earlier, the leader of Obio/Akpor legislative council, Rt. Hon. Nyeche Owhonogwu commended the Executive Chairman for his cordial working relationship.
He also saluted Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo for a superlative performance so far in office particularly for his achievements in one hundred days in office.
Some principal officers of the Obio/Akpor council witnessed the brief ceremony held at the Executive chamber of the council.
