God responsible for success of our marriage, says Nwachukwu

A former Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for Youths in Okigwe zone, Hon. Victor Nwachukwu has been counting his blessings as he marked the twenty-five years anniversary of marriage with his wife, Evang. Mercy Nwachukwu.
The Special Thanksgiving Service took place at the Winners Chapel Church, Egbu Road, in the Imo State capital.
Fielding questions from journalists at the well-attended reception at the City School premises, Owerri, Nwachukwu ascribed the success of their marriage to Divinity.
He said, “The secret is the fear of God, tolerance, and love. If you have these three things in your marriage, you’ll excel.”
He noted that by God’s grace he has got most of the things he asked God in the marriage and still counting.
He described marriage as a challenge in which nobody is an expert.
“Marriage is not easy. There is no one that has a PhD in marriage. But with love, tolerance, and humility, fear of God, you’ll subdue the devil and his agents, because marriage is not an easy institution. But with God by your side you’ll overcome and be victorious,” he reiterated.
As marriage is ordained, honoured and institutionalised by God, Mr. Nwachukwu who is the ‘National Coordinator of G-27 Victory Movement,’ urged those already in or coming into marriage to be resilient.
“The only problem some people have is impatience and no iota of love. But any couple that have patience, love each other with perseverance will be prosperous in marriage.”
He prayed God to continue to give them the grace to still love each other, to live, to give us good health, long life and prosperity, to live and teach the younger generation what love is in every marriage.
His wife, Mrs. Nwachukwu who is at the centre of the celebration, described her husband as a humble and tolerant person.
“What interests me is that my husband is a good man. He’s humble, tolerant —such a good person. I have studied him like a book. So I have to follow him. Whatever he says, I know, it’s right. He’ll never be wrong,” she enthused.
She advised the younger women in marriage, not only to make their husbands their friends, but to obey, tolerate, love, and make them their life partners, adding that patience also plays a vital role in marriage.
Urging the younger ones to be humble, she advised against any intention to rule the man in marriage as a waste of time.
“My prayer is I want God to favour the youth especially our three girls and two boys. I also tell them the advantages of humility in marriage.
“You have to tolerate your husband in marriage because in most cases if you think you’ll rule him, the marriage will not last.
“So you should be submissive to your husband and respect him also. If you do this; men demand only respect and humility, the marriage will work,” she said.
She prayed God to continue to bless them and favour the children of the marriage.
On behalf of the Ehime Brothers Association, Umuahia Branch, Abia State, who attended the anniversary in their numbers, the secretary, Mr. Paulinus Egwu described Nwachukwu as a committed and supportive member.
While wishing the celebrants well and more marital bliss, Egwu prayed God to give him and other members of the group similar grace in their own marriages.
The chairman of the occasion, Dr. Ezechi Chukwu PhD, while congratulating the celebrants, described the groom as a kind-hearted man who serves God and humanity. He expressed delight over the couple’s successes.
Chukwu who is the National Publicity Secretary and spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, prayed God to continue to strengthen the marriage and bless the Nwachukwu family with adequate grace.
He said, “Actually, today, we’re here to co-celebrate with Hon. Victor Nwachukwu and his wife in their Silver Jubilee Wedding Anniversary.
“Honourable Victor is a very wonderful human being, quite sociable, very generous, good-hearted, a team player, a lover of man and God.
“We’re delighted, especially myself. I’m raptured to be part of the milestone in his marital life.
“And it’s my prayer that God Almighty will continue to strengthen, not only his marriage, but also endow his family with all the corresponding grace his family deserves to continue to grow in the Lord and prosper in the world.”
Some of those present included a Special Adviser (SA) to the Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI), Chief Cosmas Iwu, and former Transition Committee (TC) Chairman of Ehime Mbano Local Government, Chief Louis Asionye as well as Jude Ebiziem PhD, among many others.
The ceremony witnessed dancing, presentation of gifts, and other forms of entertainment.
