The thunderous praises and unquantifiable appreciation of Imolites to Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Administration,at its sixth year anniversary,are still pouring in,even as the Governor has returned all the glory of his outstanding performance to God.This time, Imo State Commissioner for Special Duties,Hon Dr Sir Chika Benson Abazu,insists that Imo is blessed to have Hope Uzodimma now,as Governor.
In a press interaction with media practitioners in Owerri,Dr Abazu did not mince words on his avowed convinction, about Uzodimma’s overwhelming determination to change the entire Imo narrative to a better, model, modern State, despite the stubborn challenges he met on assumption,in 2020.
He said the Governor has done very well in Infrastructural Development and in every aspect of governance.Having Constructed over 120 asphalted, all seasons motorable, roads equipped with necessary road infrastructure, constructed the first twin flyover,ultra modern International Conference Centre, and other super projects .Permanently solving the issue of transportation and connectivity,as the good road network has been attracting investors to the State, in addition to making the state a construction site.
An indication he came prepared for the job.
Dr Abazu drew attention to the disturbing hitherto security challenges in the state and how the Governor frontally tackled the insecurity, which was intended to scare and frustrate his government and today Imo is calm,safe, peaceful and a destination of choice.
He said that Governor Uzodimma embarked on the multi sectoral development of Imo State, such that in less than six years,the Health, Education, Public Service,Power, Agriculture and Digital Tech, sectors,among others, have received, good attention.As the state is no more lagging behind in any area of modern development.He Established two new Universities,Orashi Power station,renovating schools, Hospitals and health centers, introduced the Health Insurance Scheme for all Imolites,Automated the public service, and introduced digital administration.
According to Dr Abazu, Uzodimma has shown extraordinary leadership by running an inclusive governance where different people irrespective of political, tribal and cultural affiliations,or interests are carried along in the scheme of things and well accommodated,in governance, making for smooth and successful implementation of policies and programs across board.
He stated that it was because of the huge success of his administration, taking the state to the national political grid/the centre, and his enormous capacity to deliver on every assignment,that President Tinubu appointed him the Renewed Hope Ambassador and DG Party Engagement, earning more glory for Imo State.He described Governor Hope Uzodimma as an exemplary leader that is respected globally and prayed that anyone the Governor will want to bring out to succeed him will be endorsed by God.Inorder to sustain the numerous achievements already attained.
Dr Sir Chika Benson Abazu,a surgeon by training, and hails from Ideato,said he retired from the Federal Public Service as a Director, after working in the Presidency for 23 years and has decided to delve into politics because of his passion to develop Ideato his home.
On his political interest Dr Abazu disclosed that he wants to provide sound legislative representation,as a Federal lawmaker in the House of Representatives to assuage the yearnings of his people for a better representation.
He said law making is a serious business and not a tea party,or for those not disciplined enough for such an important responsibility, as he will give the Ideato Nation,the deserved and expected credible leadership.
Dr Abazu, emphasised that Governor Uzodimma is building durable legacies in Imo State, including the Mgbee- Umuchima road in Ideato, which previously defied efforts of past governments, until Hope Uzodimma,provided his midas touch.As such,Ideato people are proud of him and will continue to be happy with Uzodimma, adding that anyone insulting the Governor is not from Ideato.
