The Nigerian Medical Association NMA Imo State branch has commenced its physicians week 2025, on Monday 20th October,2025 with Radio Talks on selected radio stations in Imo state.The weeklong activities will run from Monday 20th – Sunday 26th October 2025.
According to the line up of activities released by the Host and chairman of NMA Imo State Dr Bartholomew Uzodimma Echeta and the Planning committee Chairman Dr Chikaodi Ijeoma Ogwudire, the Theme of the weeklong event is HEALTHCARE AS A VALUE CHAIN: BUILDING EFFICIENCY FROM POLICY TO PATIENT. and sub-theme is AI,ETHICS AND THE PHYSICIANS ROLE IN MODERN HEALTH CARE.
It said that the Keynote speaker is Associate Prof Emeka Nwolisa,Chief consultant pediatrician, Federal Teaching Hospital, Owerri,while Dr Uwom O. Eze -chief consultant forensic pathologist and clinical forensic physician,Head of Forensic medicine unit, Department of Pathology, University college Hospital (UCH) Ibadan is the Guest Speaker.
The specific activities include Radio Talks, on day one, visitations to old and sick members,on day two,Novelty match with NUJ,on day three, School visitations on days four and five, Walk for life and scientific conference,on day six, and on day seven-Thanksgiving Service at Maria Assumpta Cathedral by 8am followed by a Luncheon by 2pm at Forest Event Centre,beside Priceless Stares,off Concord junction PH Road, Owerri.
