Having witnessed the demonstration of political will to integrate the entire gamut of the Nigerian nation, I came to the conclusion that His Excellency Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma, Onwa Oyoko, the governor of Imo State is unarguably the greatest bridge builder that has come from the East.
The political landscape of the nation and the divisive fault lines following tribal and ethnic leanings festered avoidable emotional blackmail of sections and tribes, of people, without adequate assessment of collectivist possibilities.
Sen. Hope Uzodimma is a politician that understands his background but wary of trailing fault lines that are limiting for which the lost grounds of political heights for the former politicians of Eastern extract were defined.
The recent gathering of topmost political players and gladiators in Owerri for the book launch for the 10 years of political reigns of APC in Nigeria and the profiling of creme de la creme of the society with the rare presence of the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and his acolytes and captains of industries sent a clear message about who Sen. Hope Uzodimma truly is.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while addressing the gathering of greatest profile of Nigerian leaders, said that Sen. Hope Uzodimma has done a good job, he is a man of vision and altruistic capacity. He attested to his uncommon distinctive personality and leadership dexterity.
Not only that the governor is delivering amazing projects, such that the president, before the book launch, commissioned Owerri- Egbu- Umuahia road, a 57Km dual carriage way with solar lighting,, drainages and the assumpta or control post Flyover, the newly constructed Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre EIICC, he has significant number of projects going on simultaneously in the state. He is on a mission for Infrastructural Revolution.
Significantly, the Cohort 3 digital skill up program of the state, the skill up Imo, was ready for graduation but in the wisdom of the governor, he didn’t want to lump it into the itinerary for the day.
A peep into the tarmac of Sam Mbakwe International Airport showed a galaxy of private jets that arrived Imo State to honour the bridge builder of uncommon mien. He indeed has changed the narratives such that Imo State has become an integral state within the national forum where progressive ideals are hatched.
Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, CON, the governor of Imo State, Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum, chairman of Niger Delta Governor’s Forum and chairman of South East Governors Forum has shown intrinsic capacity in pulling IMO State into mainstream politics of Nigeria.
Notably, Imo State is now the fulcrum of APC consciousness in the Eastern region and gradually demystifying the negative aura that invaded the East based on extrication from the central political projects of the past. There is no doubt that championing the philosophical transformation of political involvement of the East is gaining traction for integral profiling.
Beyond the past sentiments was a need to rebrand and to recalibrate the psyche of the people, leading them out of defeatist ideology into a progressive political rebirth. Sen. Hope Uzodimma has effectively shown that reengineering of political consciousness of the East can be possible and he is leading the onslaught.
The book he Authored principally chatted a course for ideological rebirth of APC as a progressive and to seek to reemphasize the need for integration and inclusiveness for a common growth. He has activated intellectual refocus and rebirth showing that ideology should lead the next phase of APC hold on power, no more a time to permit brutish display of crude entities, which defined the practice of the past when democracy was said to be nascent.
Sen. Godswill Akpabio eulogised Gov. Hope Uzodimma affirming that he has shown strong progressive ideals and urged him to do more to earn indelible stead in the hearts of his people, an engraving in history.
The galaxy of stars that attended the book launch cutting across the North, the South West, South South and South East, and the expatriate community, attest to the enormous work to build bridges of potency. The Profile of personalities with Senate president, Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Governors, Senators, party leaders and chieftains, religious leaders and captains of industries clearly announced the good integration and attainment of strength in diversity. Imo State has become another centre where great things happen in confidence.
Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma has shown a high tenacity in shouldering the restoration of his people on the rungs of philosophical political rebirth and repositioning. Time has come when the people from the land of the rising sun have to leave self pity to embrace new political realities as the great bridge builder is busy bulldozing the way for a new order.
