On the eve of April 9th, 2026, London was filled with pride, unity, and cultural celebration as the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo UK & Ireland Chapter, in collaboration with the Imo State Union UK, hosted a distinguished consultative meeting in honor of Chief Charles Orie.

The gathering brought together members of the Igbo community from across the United Kingdom and Ireland, reflecting the strength, unity, and resilience of a people deeply rooted in tradition while thriving in the diaspora. The leadership of both organizations extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to Chief Orie, whose presence added significance and prestige to the occasion.

The evening unfolded in an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. Attendees expressed their appreciation for Chief Orie’s visit, describing it as both timely and inspiring. Discussions throughout the event centered on unity, progress, and the continued advancement of Igbo interests both at home and abroad.

In his remarks, Chief Orie commended the dedication of the UK and Ireland chapter in preserving Igbo culture and fostering a strong sense of community among its members. He emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between homeland leadership and the diaspora, highlighting a shared responsibility in building a prosperous future for Ndi Igbo.

The consultative nature of the meeting encouraged meaningful dialogue, as participants exchanged ideas on strengthening cultural ties, supporting development initiatives, and enhancing the global visibility and influence of the Igbo people.

As the evening drew to a close, there was a shared sense of fulfillment and renewed commitment among attendees. The visit of Chief Charles Orie not only honored the hosting organizations but also reinforced the enduring bond that unites Igbo communities across the world.

Among those in attendance were the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo UK/Ireland, High Chief Chima Oparaugo, alongside other esteemed members of the organization. Also present was the President of Imo State Union UK, High Chief Vicman Ekwueme, accompanied by officials of the union.

Members of the Imo State progressives for Change 2027 UK chapter were also in attendance, including Barrister Sympathy Nwosu, Elder Aloysius Nnawugo, Mrs. Ngozi Awa, Bro Chinedu and Mr. Ejike Ikezuagu, with several other distinguished personalities.

The event stands as a testament to the vibrancy of the Igbo spirit, resilient, united, and forward-looking,wherever its people may be.
