The Imo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Rt. Hon. Goodluck Opiah, on Friday, January 30, 2026, led members of the Imo State chapter of the group to Oru East and Ehime Mbano Local Government Areas for the inauguration of Ward Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in the two LGAs.
Opiah and his entourage were warmly received by political leaders, party faithful, traditional stakeholders, women and youth groups, as well as members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in both LGAs.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Ehime Mbano LGA, Rt. Hon. Opiah called for unity of purpose among members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and party faithful, stressing that cohesion, discipline and shared vision are critical to sustaining the gains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He clarified that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors is not a political party or campaign organisation but an advocacy group and a strategic partner working to help the APC win elections through enlightenment, mobilisation and grassroots engagement.
“We are not a political party and we are not in competition with the party. We are partners helping the party to win elections. Our strength lies in unity of purpose and our ability to speak with one voice in explaining what the APC government is doing,” Opiah said.
He further explained that the group was not in the LGAs to campaign, noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not yet released the timetable for the 2027 general elections.
“When INEC releases the timetable, that is when campaigns will officially begin. At that time, we will freely campaign for all our candidates: the President, the Governor, the Senate, House of Representatives and the State Assembly. Until then, our responsibility is advocacy,” he said.
Opiah explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors is focused on explaining and marketing the reforms, programmes and policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as those of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, whom he described as the National Leader of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the Director-General of APC Party Outreach and Mobilisation.
He cited the President’s bold economic reforms, infrastructure expansion, student loan scheme, fuel subsidy removal and redirection of savings to critical sectors, increased revenue generation, as well as ongoing efforts to stabilise the economy and reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth, noting that these policies require proper explanation for the people to fully appreciate their long-term benefits.
According to him, Governor Uzodimma has complemented these efforts at the state level through massive investments in road infrastructure across Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe zones, improved security, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, revitalisation of key institutions, and sustained focus on economic recovery and social stability in Imo State.
He noted that many Nigerians do not fully understand the link between the President’s reforms and the progress being recorded across the country, adding that it is the duty of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to bridge that gap through continuous engagement with the grassroots.
“The APC government is doing a lot for Nigerians. There are policies and programmes designed for the good of all, but some people misunderstand them. It is our duty to explain these policies to our people and help them understand where we are coming from and where we are going,” Opiah stated.
The RHA State Coordinator commended the Ehime Mbano LGA Coordinator, Rt. Hon. Emeka Nduka, for strengthening the group at the grassroots through the appointment of capable Ward Coordinators, including women and former and serving local government chairmen.
Describing Ehime Mbano as “Renewed Hope compliant,” Opiah noted that elections are won at the ward and polling unit levels, not at the state level. He charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to intensify grassroots mobilisation and win members of opposition parties into the APC.
“Many opposition parties are gasping for breath. We cannot allow our brothers and sisters to sink with sinking ships. We must help them. While some parties are struggling for INEC recognition, the APC is waxing stronger,” he said.
He also urged party faithful to take advantage of the ongoing APC e-registration exercise to bring more people into the party.
In his welcome address, the Ehime Mbano LGA Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Emeka Nduka, warmly welcomed the State Coordinator and his team, commending the APC government at both the state and federal levels for addressing the needs of the people.
He cited the reduction in commodity prices and improving economic indicators as part of President Tinubu’s efforts to stabilise and reposition the economy for sustainable growth, adding that Ehime Mbano LGA has benefitted from APC governance and remains loyal to the party.
Nduka assured that Ward Coordinators and Booth Ambassadors would serve as effective evangelisers for the APC and would deliver on their mandate.
Earlier in Oru East LGA, Rt. Hon. Opiah lauded the LGA Coordinator, Chief Austin Onyedebelu, for his leadership capacity and gender-sensitive approach, describing women as the bedrock of political mobilisation and electioneering.
He charged the Ward Coordinators to actively explain APC policies and programmes to the people while mobilising massively for the ongoing party e-registration exercise.
Speaking, Chief Onyedebelu expressed appreciation for the visit, assuring that his team had already commenced grassroots mobilisation and would leave no stone unturned in achieving the objectives of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in the LGA.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Ifeanyi Oru, who hails from Oru East LGA, described the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a collective responsibility, stressing that everyone has a role to play.
He commended the impressive turnout at the events, describing it as a clear demonstration of the people’s love and support for Governor Hope Uzodimma and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The events were attended by government appointees, political leaders and stakeholders, members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors from various LGAs, youth and women groups, as well as religious leaders.
