The candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2024 Local Government Area (LGA) elections in Orlu LGA, Father Chukwunonso Echefu has paid a solidarity visit to the winner of the election and Chairman Orlu LGA, Pastor Chris Mbarie at the latter’s office in the Local Government Headquarters, Orlu.
Father Echefu, who was warmly welcomed paid glowing tribute to Pastor Mbarie for his relentless efforts towards the transformation of the LGA. He stated that barely one year in office, he had observed considerable improvement in the cleanliness of Orlu as well as numerous infrastructural developments. The NNPP candidate noted that several markets in the LGA is receiving facelifts including his community’s Nkwo Owerre-Ebeiri. He urged him to upgrade the commercial center to a daily-market.
Father Echefu who lauded the chairman for carrying along his lieutenants equally commended the Councillor representing Owerre Ebeiri Ward, Honourable Magnus Okorie for his selflessness and commitment towards the improvement of lives of his people and urged him to keep up the good works.
He however urged the chairman to redouble efforts towards effective control of erosion ravaging the area.
Father Echefu used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for the massive and comprehensive infrastructural development of Orlu Local Government Area. He thanked the governor for the road reconstructions, the Imo Government House Annex in Orlu amidst other projects.
The NNPP candidate promised to always avail himself for every suggestions and inputs in the interest of the LGA whenever the chairman wishes to consult him.
He expressed his heartfelt condolences to Hon. Mbarie over the death of his father and prayed God to grant the deceased soul eternal rest in the bosom of God.
Responding, Hon. Mbarie thanked him for making out time for his visit and for his numerous counsel towards the good of Orlu Local Government Area.
The chairman noted that the passion he observed in Father Echefu showed that he was very enthusiastic to improve the lots of the people of Orlu hence his decision to contest for the election. He urged him not to relent in his desire to improve the lives of his people through political seats.
Hon. Mbarie also thanked the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for the great support he has been giving him in order to make Orlu a haven for all. He promised to continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Orlu Local Government Area.
