The member representing the people of Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta[ and Oru West federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Eugene Okechukwu Dibiagwu has presented his impressive score cards to his constituents during his constituency briefing held at the federal constituency headquarters, Mgbidi, Oru West LGA.
In his address, Hon Dibiagwu said that as a lawmaker, he is primarily saddled with the responsibility of Law making, oversight and representation adding that in these three areas, he has done well in addition to attracting and executing projects and empowerments across the federal constituency.
He said that on law making, he has sponsored and co- sponsored several bills and motion and other legislative instrument at the plenary however disclosing that he has six bills that have passed first readings. He noted that he has participated in plenary within the constitutional requirement of attendance . He revea[led that he has secured a chairmanship position as the House Committee Chairman on Regional Development formally of the Niger Delta Affairs in addition of being a Deputy Chairman of two committees on Foreign Affairs and Women in Parliament . He noted that he has performed in several oversight functions in partnership with other honorable members to review the activities of the performance of MDAs.
On representation, he said that as a responsible legislator versed in the immediate challenges of the people, he has dedicated himself and the mandate to the pursuit and facilitation of projects, porogrammes and activities primarily aimed at lifting his constituents from poverty, underdevelopment and under representation over the years.. He said that for the first time under his representation, the federal constituency has several roads facilitated and attracted by him. He listed over 10 on- going roads across the three LGAs in the federal constituency in addition to several other completed projects, empowerments, WEAC Registrations among others.
Many o of the Constituents and stakeholders who spoke commended Hon Dibiagwu for what many of them described as unprecedented impressive representation urging him to continue to make the federal constituency proud. The high point of the event was the passage of vote of confidence which was moved in support of him by the former deputy Speaker, Imo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Donatus Ozoemenem and supported by Hon Gideon Meffor which was later followed by a unanimous voice vote by the generality of those in attendance
