The headquarters of Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority (AIRBDA), on Friday witnessed a unique royal visit as the Chairman, South East Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers (Eze Imo), HRM, Eze Dr. Emmanuel C. Okeke, (CFR), led other traditional rulers on a royal visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AIRBDA, Rt. Hon. Barr. Anthony Emeka Nduka at the Authority’s headquarters in Owerri, Imo State.
The leader of the delegation, HRM, Eze Dr. E. C. Okeke, while making his remarks, stated that the royal fathers which included HRM Eze (Sir) Iheanacho Ndukwe, Deputy Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Dr. Lucky Okoro, Secretary, South East Council of Traditional Rulers and HRM, Eze Daniel Emereonye, Chairman Ehime Mbano Council of Traditional Rulers, visited to congratulate the Managing Director and his management team on their recent appointment.
The royal father noted that the appointment of Rt. Hon. Barr. Emeka Nduka was in recognition of his remarkable leadership qualities demonstrated in previous public assignments, where he exhibited high levels of accountability, transparency, and developmental focus. He expressed confidence that the MD would bring the same energy, commitment, and vibrancy to the Authority.
Eze Imo described Hon. Emeka Nduka as a man of integrity, accountability, and selfless public service, advising him to continue to pilot the affairs of AIRBDA with the same virtues for which he is well known for.
He further called on the management and staff of the Authority to work harmoniously with the Managing Director, assuring them of the Council’s continuous prayers and support.
In his response, Rt. Hon. Barr. Emeka Anthony Nduka expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman and members of the Council for their visit, describing it as a gesture of goodwill and encouragement.
He acknowledged the vital role of traditional rulers in sustaining peace and unity at the grassroots, adding that their collaboration is essential to the success of his administration.
Barr. Nduka reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to implementing people-oriented projects in line with its mandate and assured that AIRBDA would continue to align its programmes with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Speaking also, the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Chidi Amaliri, described Rt. Hon. Emeka Anthony Nduka as a visionary and God-sent leader to the Anambra Imo River Basin Development Authority.
He further noted that, within the short period of his assumption of office, the staff of the Authority have already begun to feel his positive impact. He enumerated some of the Managing Director’s early achievements to include the restoration of power supply to the Authority’s headquarters and staff quarters, as well as the reactivation of water supply within the premises.
Giving the vote of thanks, the Executive Director, Agricultural Services, Barr. Noble Ojigwe, thanked HRM Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okeke for honouring the Authority with his visit. He described the royal visit as a great source of motivation and pledged that the management team would continue to live up to expectations.
Also present were the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Hon. Mrs. Priscilla Nwaebonyi; Executive Director, Engineering, Engr. Evaristus Asadu; Director of Accounts, Dr. Pascal Emepuru; Director of Planning and Design, Mr. Gerald Amanze; Assistant Director, Procurement, Mr. Simeon Ezeaputa; and the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Chidi Amaliri.
The highlight of the royal visit was the offering of royal blessings on the Managing Director, Rt. Hon. Emeka Anthony Nduka, and his office.
