The defection of Enugu State Governor, Barr Peter Mbah to All Progressives Congress (APC)has been discribed as a bold step in the right direction that will not only benefit Enugu State,but the entire South East,considering the position of Enugu State in the region.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Imo State, Barr Chris Okewulonu stated this on Thursday while fielding questions from journalists in Owerri.
Okewulonu who was Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SSG) emphasized that the decision of Enugu State Governor to join APC will go along way to strengthen the integration of the south East to the national politics of Nigeria.
He however called on all South East leaders,especially the Igbos to join the moving train of APC for the overall interest of the entire Igbos and South East respectively.
Chief Okewulonu equally commended the Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma who he discribed as a wonderful gift to Imo people, south East and Nigeria for his unprecedented leadership style at all levels across the country which according to him, has been yielding positive results.
Ebekuodike Obowo also extolled Governor Hope Uzodimma for his untiring efforts to give All Progressives Congress (APC) a foothold in the South East and for facilitating Governor Mbah’s cross over .
The ex Imo Commissioner for Information and Culture therefore appealed to all Igbo leaders irrespective of party affiliation, to support President Bola Tinubu led administration towards connecting the south East to the national politics for the betterment of the entire region.
