…AS OKOROIKE RECEIVES GROUP’S CEO, EMPHASIZES ON HIS COMMITMENT TOWARDS INDUSTRIALIZATION OF LGA
The Executive Chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA, Hon. Evang. Chika Okoroike, has emphasized that his administration will continue to align with the policies and vision of the Imo State Government under the leadership of Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, towards job creation and industrialization of Isiala Mbano LGA.
The Chairman made the remarks on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the council headquarters in Umuelemai, when he received the Chief Executive Officer of BABAMEKUS IND.LTD, an agro-processing company, Dr. Andy Ekwelem, and management staff of his company who were in the Chairman’s office to showcase their products.
The Council Chairman, who expressed satisfaction with the Company’s products, including rice milling soya oil bottling and vegetable oil, noted that the local government’s partnership with the agro-processing company will enhance food sufficiency and job creation in Isiala Mbano LGA, aligning with his Back to Farm initiative and the vision of the Governor of Imo State, assuring that the Local Government would provide all necessary support to the company to ensure it begins full production within some months.
Evang.Okoroike finally thanked Dr.Andy Ekwelem for bringing home such massive developments, promising to convey the development to the State Government.
In his vote of thanks, the CEO of BABAMEKUS IND .LTD currently based in Abuja, Dr. Andy Ekwelem, a native of Añara and Chairman Rice Processors Association of Nigeria, expressed his sincere appreciation to the council Chairman for his unwavering support and adoption of the projects, emphasizing that the local government’s involvement in the rice processing Soya Oil bottling company, will undoubtedly generate job opportunities for unemployed youths in the council area due to its value chain.
