The Labour Party candidate for Nwangele Local Government Area in the 2023 House of Assembly election in Imo State, Amb Edith Nwosu, has resigned from the party.
Chief Nwosu in a letter she addressed through the Ward Chairman, Abba, cited “personal reason” for her resignation.
In the letter dated Monday, September 29, 2025 and signed personally by her, Nwosu states that it had become exigent for her to exit.
Entitled “Letter of resignation of membership,” the Ikuku Oma nke mbu Igolo Ekitiafor says, “I write to formerly resign my membership from Labour Party with immediate effect.
“I take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude for the opportunity I was given by the party.
“Becoming the House of Assembly candidate of Labour Party is one of the significant high points of my life that I most certainly do not take for granted.
“It has however become imperative to part ways at this time because of personal reasons….,” she stated.
Nevertheless, Amb Nwosu wished the party and its leadership the very best.
