The Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly,Rt. Hon. Amarachi Iwuanyanwu,has joined in the tragic death of five members of his constituency.
Iwuanyanwu’s condolence message is contained in a release he personally signed and availed Sunday Nigerian Horn.
The release read:
“It is with a heart laden with profound grief and a deep sense of loss that I, the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and the member representing the good people of Nwangele State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, extend my deepest condolences on the tragic and heartbreaking loss of a beloved family of five from the Uzoma lineage of Umuchoke, Umuozu. The news of their sudden demise in a devastating motor accident, which also involved a catastrophic fire explosion, has sent shockwaves of anguish throughout our local government area and beyond, leaving us all in a state of collective mourning and disbelief.
” This unimaginable tragedy is rendered even more poignant by the circumstances surrounding their journey. Having just concluded the sacred duty of laying their mother, the late Lolo Stella Uzoma, to rest, they were en route to Enugu, and ultimately Abuja, to continue with their lives, a journey that was so cruelly cut short. To have endured the pain of burying a matriarch only to be confronted with this cataclysmic loss is a burden no family should ever have to bear. My heart aches for the promising futures extinguished and the profound void their passing has created.
” On behalf of my family and office, I extend my deepest sympathies to the immediate and extended Uzoma family, the Umuchoke kindred, the Umuozu community, and every son and daughter of Nwangele. In this moment of unspeakable sorrow, words are insufficient to console; however, I pray that you find solace in the cherished memories they leave behind and in the love and support of our community, which stands united with you in grief.
“Furthermore, I hereby add my voice to the calls for a thorough, transparent, and expedited investigation into the cause of this ghastly accident. It is imperative that the relevant authorities, including the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Nigerian Police Force, leave no stone unturned in determining the circumstances that led to this irreparable loss. Those found culpable, through action or negligence, must be brought to book to face the full wrath of the law. This is not only a matter of justice for the departed but a crucial step towards ensuring safer roads for all our citizens.
” I fervently pray to God Almighty to grant the entire Uzoma family, the people of Umuchoke, Umuozu, and Nwangele LGA the divine fortitude and strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, find eternal rest in His bosom. Amen.”
