The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has emerged as the umbrella party for a grand political alliance of coalition partners which is focused on ensuring the electoral defeat of the APC in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, thereby repositioning Nigeria on the part of security, economic growth and overall progress.
The coalition partners include SDP, APGA, PDP, Labour party, a segment of APC, and other political parties.
During an awareness/sensitization programme organized by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held in Owerri on June 6 and described as the Convergence of Coalition Partners, Imo State with the theme, “Strengthening Alliance for a Better Nigeria,” the state chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Emma Amushie (Omeire), expressed joy at the choice of his party as the umbrella party of the coalition partners, saying that their arms are wide open to embrace and accommodate the coalition of parties coming.
The elated Chairman described the coming coalition as a “tsunami,” observing that he was pleased it was happening during his time as state chairman.
Amushie informed that the ADC remained the only party in the country without any crisis whatsoever, stressing that with the coming coalition ADC would be positioned as the biggest political party in Nigeria and Africa.
The ADC state chairman urged ndi Imo to join forces with his party by becoming members of the party in the task of rescuing the state from years of misrule and leading it to the promised land.
He added that the coalition was being founded on the principles of equality, justice and progress and that together more would be achieved rather than going it separately. The chairman also informed that the coalition was a national affair with presence in all the states.
The chairman of the event and Ngor/Okpala LGA chairman, Rev. Robert Ndukwu noted that the coming coalition was a gathering force that no human being can stop.
He called on Imolites to be aware that the ADC and its coalition partners had come to deliver ndi Imo from poor governance and usher them into the promised land.
A key note address was delivered by a former PDP state secretary, Mr Damian Ezeagu who informed that they were coming into the coalition from the Rebuild Imo project. According to Ezeagu, they had come because they were not happy with the state of the nation. He explained that they were now all in ADC, coming from different parties and groups.
He added that the members of ADC should ensure open-mindedness and embrace the coming coalition and the compromises that must accompany it, all for the sake of ndi Imo.
Also speaking to our reporter, the state youth leader of ADC in the state, Comrade Nobleiyke Edoziem called on party members to prepare to move the state forward by engaging in grassroots sensitization of current development in the party.
Edoziem also thanked God for the vision of the coming coalition, saying that ADC was open and ready to work with all well-meaning Imolites to reposition the state on the part of progress.
Among those present were, the ADC state woman leader Lady Chioma Ugboaja Nwigwe, the entire state is exco, zonal chairmen, LGA chairmen, coalition members and party leaders and members from across the state.
