….As Commissioner warns opposition to stop causing confusion

Youths of Amala, Ikem, Alatia, Ntu and Eziama and communities in the Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, yesterday, June 3rd, 2025, staged a solidarity match over land acquisition by the Zion Ministries.

The protesters displayed placards with various inscriptions which read; "Zion Ministry wants Development in Our Community", Leave Zion Ministry alone", Say No To Cowards That Are living in Abuja but don't want the development of Ngor- Okpala" and others.

Speaking to journalists during the protest, Engr. Kingsley Nweje, said, that the community had been settled for a long, saying that he was even given his own share.

“The Zion ministry is not owing and community in Ngor-okpa”.

Also, Mr. Theophilus Njoku, noted, that one of the sons of Ngor- Okpala, Dr. Sam Amadi is the one responsible for the incitements, saying that they want development in their communities.

In a press conference, in his office, the Commissioner, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu, said, that Dr. Sam Amadi and others are the cause of the problem in the area, urging them to contribute to the development of Ngor-Okpala.

After the acquisition in 2003, Imo state government had the aim of using , but  the Chinese investors loosed interest along the line, adding the it is called, "Chinese village" in Ngor-Okpala. 

“We are calling on those that are selling illegal lands to the unsuspecting general public to stop. ” Those agitating are lazy people”. Imo government has broken the jinks”.

He said, Imo State government didn't give Zion Ministry a new land, describing it as a blackmail by the opposition. "We are partners in progress with the Zion Ministries". 

The Commissioner also said that there’s a rapid development in the State, an that every investor is assured of his safety of their lives and properties.
