Presenting the award to the lawmaker in Owerri, on behalf of the association, Chairman of NAPPS in the state, Dame Nkeiruka Happiness Uhuegbu, PhD, said NAPPS Imo State, honoured him, in appreciation of his rare interest in promoting quality education in Owerri Zone. She disclosed that the lawmaker has churned out so many quality education enhancement initiatives, pointing out that members of the association have continued to benefit from the continuous initiatives, especially in the area of human capital development.

According to her, many private schools teachers have been trained by the lawmaker, under his continuous teachers capacity building training programs, which are designed to equip teachers with modern teaching skills and techniques, in STEM Subjects, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The NAPPS Chairman, further noted that apart from skills upgrading, Senator Onyewuchi also donates modern technological teaching and learning tools, to the trainees and their respective schools at the end of every training exercise, to promote quality teaching and learning.

She stressed that NAPPS decided to honour him with the prestigious award of “Grand Patron.”as way of thanking him for all he’s doing for education, and encouraging him not to relent.

Responding after receiving the award, Senator Onyewuchi expressed gratitude to the association for
recognizing and appreciating all he has been doing, to deepen and sustain quality education in the zone.

He promised to continue to prioritize education development in Owerri Zone, given its well known position as the foundation of growth, development and progress.
