Action Alliance (AA), Imo State has submitted that the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and his party, All Progressives Congress are playing politics with human lives.
State Chairman of Action Alliance, Comrade Ifeanyi Okponwa-Eze stated this in Owerri, Tuesday, while reacting to the governor’s reaction to the attack on police command headquarters and prison facility recently.
Governor Uzodimma and APC had been quoted as claiming that aggrieved politicians in the state were responsible for the attack.
But Okponwa-Eze said such claim was too pedestrian for such sensitive and very serious issue.
He added that the position of the governor and APC is ridiculous and tantamount to playing politics with the safety of the people.
The AA boss stated that the governor ought to have channelled his energy to improving security situation in the state and forestalling future occurrence, than being engrossed with political battles.
Okponwa-Eze frowned that the state is now confronted with regular cases of kidnapping, with the latest being the abduction of a Catholic priest along Okigwe-Enugu express way as reported by the media.
He condemned the attack on the police command headquarters and prisons, describing the incident as an affront on the state.
The chairman urged the governor to wake from slumber and tackle head-on the worsening security situation in the state.
