Members of the Hopism Movement staged a solidarity rally for Governor Hope Uzodinma in Owerri the Imo State capital on Saturday, August 1st, 2020.
The Solidarity march which started at Control Post went through Bank road, Wetheral road to Douglas road and ended at the Government House. Addressing the media, the Convener, Evang Mike Ikeokwu said the group gathered to celebrate the governor, to celebrate what he is doing and urge him to continue the good works he is doing.
Ikeokwu said the group are made up of business men and women who love the state and the ideology of the government in the 3R saying the group has gathered their resources together to assist the governor saying the governor cannot do all things alone.
He debunked the insinuation that they are doing a counter solidarity against former Governor Emeka Ihedioha but stated that they have planned the solidarity rally for a long time. Ikeokwu described the governor as an achiever who has done marvelously well in all sectors and urge Imo people to rally round governor Uzodinma to take Imo to an enviable level.
Also Speaking, the SSA to the governor on Print (local), Chief Modestus Nwankpa said what Hopism group has done is in tandem with the views of all Imolites saying time has come to celebrate genuine efforts of the governor.
Nwankpa stated that Governor Uzodinma has done well especially in areas of road construction and rehabilitation stressing that for the first time in Imo history, the governor has bursted the cabal that held the civil service hostage and is saving N2 Billion monthly for the state through concrete prudence in management of resources.
The SSA encouraged all Imo people to align to the visions of the governor saying after 4 years, Imo people will confess that they made the right choice in electing governor Uzodinma into office.
