The late Ezinne Edna Akuebionwu Akahara will be buried on Friday, October 11, 2019, at her compound, Umuduruofor Ubakuru Mbieri, in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State. She was aged 105.
The deceased was the mother-in-law of a former councillor for Ogwa Ward Eleven, Hon. Fidelis Odunna.
According to the burial arrangements by the family, Ezinne Akahara “Omanapiece” (nee Ofoegbu) slept in the Lord, on August 3, 2019.
The funeral service will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Ubakuru Mbieri.
Information gleaned from her biography by the family says in addition to serving humanity, the late Edna also evangelized for God, converting souls, herself having been born and baptized an Anglican.
“She was so accommodating that there was no segregation among her children. She was an adviser to many people as she also understood the gains of giving. She would give out whatever she had … The youth call her ‘Abebe’ while her fellow women call her ‘Omanapiece,’ ‘Omumasahu’ and other palatable names,” the oration states.
