In a determined bid to ensure transparency in picking the best teachers from the Imo state secondary school system, who had already sat for promotion exams to be principals of schools, the Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB) has engaged senior lecturers from the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri (AIFCE), to mark the teachers exam papers.
The senior lecturers numbering 7, all Ph.d holders are to engage in what has been termed “conference paper marking” which implies that transparency, Equity and fairness is totally applied to the process so that in case of a tie or ambiguity, it can be quickly resolved and also to ensure that any teacher’s doubt his/her score is genuinely sorted out to the persons satisfaction.
Speaking while welcoming the lecturers, the Executive Secretary of the Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB), Barr (Mrs) Oby Anyikude, who herself was a school teacher for 15 years, was visibly excited with the exercise and informed that it is in line with the rebuild Imo AGENDA of the present Gov.
