The hope of Mr Kingsley Echendu of replacing Rt Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo (popularly known as OZB) as member representing Nkwerre/Nwangele/Isu/Njaba Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has been dashed.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, Imo State capital on Monday, reaffirmed the authenticity of Ozurigbo as the duly nominated candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the federal constituency.
Mr Harrison Nwadike had dragged Ozurigbo to federal high court alleging that he
(OZB) was not the authentic candidate of APC for the seat.
Though Nwadike won at the lower court, the Court of Appeal quashed the ruling and returned OZB as the duly nominated candidate of APC.
Daily Nigerian Horn further learnt that the Court of Appeal judgement has brought to a logical end the controversy surrounding the representation of the Federal constituency.
The judgement has also rendered useless the Certificate of Return issued to the PDP candidate in the election, Echendu
