A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, Chief Livinus Okwara has berated the poor mentality of immediate past Governor of Imo state over the government property he allegedcarted away while leaving office as governor.
Okwara made this assertion while fielding questions from newsmen in Owerri recently.
He said the past administration dragged Imo far backwards, noting that Okorocha did not mean well for Imo people, but rather only interested in enriching himself and members of his family at the detriment of the state.
“A government that stole cars of all grades, power generators, office equipment, television sets among others shows a high level of naive mentality”.
He noted that during the past administration, both the internally generated revenues (IGR) and local government system was messed up.
“My question is where did our IGR gone to during the past administration. We have now started hearing about IGR since inception of the present government. Okorocha promised Imo people industry which never came, he promised good roads and ended up destroying the ones we had”.
Okwara narrated how Okorocha amassed half of the land allocated to him for industry during Mbakwe administration and shared it to his family and cronies. He said the action thwarted his plans to build four industries in the state which he said he had concluded plans and informed the governor about but to his greatness surprise, governor Okorocha never considered his effort as important and necessary towards the development of Imo state.
According to him the industries which he had invested heavily was aimed towards reduction of unemployment in the state but action of the government killed the dream and affected him negatively.
Though as an APC staunch member,He never supported Okorocha’s candidates during the last general elections. Adding that he never regreted the out come of that election.
Okwara further revealed that even the kinsmen of Okorocha from Ideato South were happy on the outcome of the election as most of them were supporting him under duress.
Okwara expressed regret that the person that delivered the worst leadership in the history of the state hails from the same area with him. He said people of Ideato are disappointed with Okorocha and that the former governor knows about it.
The APC stalwart advised Imolites to support Governor Emeka Ihedioha who God has destined to lead Imo state at this point in time while also advising the governor to keep to his electoral promise of carrying Imo people along, irrespective of zone or political leaning.
