The traditional rulers in Orlu Zone have applauded the Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha for signing into law the Treasury Single Account (TSA), saying the account will benefit the entire people of the state. To this end, the monarchs have pledged their total support to the Governor.
The Royal Fathers gave the commendation Tuesday (July 16, 2019) during their zonal meeting at the Orlu zonal Council Hall, Orlu Secretariat.
The chairman, Orlu zonal Council of Ndi-Eze, HRH Eze Caesar Duruegbuzuo of Amazano Autonomous Community in Njaba LGA, noted the idea would go a long way in strengthening the financial base of the state at various times as well as check-mating financial recklessness in the system.
The Royal Fathers maintained that their colleagues in both Okigwe and Orlu Zones supported their sons when they were governors of the state at various times and promised to support Ihedioha led administration.
On security, the monarchs assured the Governor of their total support towards combating crime in their various communities towards making Imo crime-free. They enjoined the state number one citizen to look into the issue of Imo Community Watch (ICW) which is supposed to work with the traditional rulers for effective community policing.
On the menace of herdsmen, the Royal Fathers called on the Governor to join his counterparts across the South East to put a stop to the menace in the Region.
The traditional rulers from the Orlu Zone who trooped out in their numbers from the twelve local government areas equally used the occasion to congratulate the Governor and their illustrious son, Rt. Hon. Gerald Irona for their electoral victories, and commended the Governor for the existing cordial relationship between them since their assumption of office.
The Orlu Zone traditional rulers expressed gladness with what they called outstanding leadership qualities so far exhibited by the Governor in the office, saying they have shown that he would bring his wealth of experience as a former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives to bare throughout his administration in the state.
The meeting attracted the chairman of Orlu LG Interim Management Committee, Hon. Aloysius Oluigbo; his deputy, and that Barr. Modestus Nwaele and Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS) Barr. Anuebonwa among others who came and welcomed the traditional rulers.
Some Royal Fathers who spoke during the parley included, Eze Innocent Mbanefo from Ideato-North LGA, Eze Innocent Ikejiofor of Isu LGA, Eze M. C. Duruigbo of Orlu LGA, and Eze Mike Nwosu of Ideato-North LGA who thanked their zonal chairman, Eze Duruegbusuo for his good leadership qualities and prayed for periodic meetings of the Zone towards ensuring the unity and progress of Orlu Zone Royal Fathers.
