The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has inaugurated its new executive members that will oversee the affairs of the association in the Eastern Zone of the country.
Swearing-in the members in Owerri last Saturday, the association’s national president, Mr. Chinedu Okoronkwo charged the officials to be united and remain focused in the discharge of their duties.
According to him, “Today, I enjoin you to ensure that all stakeholders are brought together and make the progress of the association your watchword.
“Some of us were concerned due to divisions in IPMAN. People have taken advantage of the division in our association. You may find it difficult to negotiate the welfare of your members when there is division.
“It is important to remain united and focused going forward. I urge other members to key into this unity across the nation,” he said.
Okoronkwo urged members to give the new executive the support needed in order to succeed. “
He said the Supreme Court brought the IPMAN legal tussle to an end on March 26, 2019 when the it struck out Obasi’s request for interpretation and varying of the Supreme Court judgement of December 14, 2018.
He said that IPMAN as a body had now become united, even as he extended a hand of fellowship to those angered by the court judgment.
“Lets speak with one voice,” he added.
In his acceptance speech, the newly-inaugurated chairman, Chief Larry Nworuh, assured every member of the association that his executive would ensure their welfare.
The Mbaise-born successful business mogul said no one would be left behind in moving the association forward and in ensuring petroleum products allocations to all members.
“It is a new dawn in IPMAN, no more factions. No division on how products will be allocated. Nigerians will be better for it.”
The soft-spoken chairman used the opportunity to solicit support from other stakeholders to ensuring the free flow of petroleum products to the Zone.
Other members that were sworn-in included: Chief Oliver Anupueme and Ugoeze Kate Ekwueme, -the Chief Whip and Auditor among others.
